Beautiful mixed media layout - Sparkle and Shine kit

It's me again with my last layout using the Scraps of Darkness August Kit "Sparkle and Shine".  I have so many lovely photos that were perfect for this gorgeous kit.  All of them featured my lovely niece, Bre, and were taken by her sister Dani Ulstad.

Di Garling, a former Design Tech member for Scraps of Elegance has long been an inspiration for me, so when I saw her layout "Follow Your Heart", I just had to scrap it.  Di graciously allowed me to use her beautiful sketch.

I used one of the Sparkle and Shine papers from the Main Kit for the background.  I gave it a light coat of gesso and used a stencil from Gabrielle Pollacco with 49th and Market.  I have been using the Art Alchemy Impasto Paint in White that came in a previous kit as my paste for my stencils.  I love its smoothness and quick drying qualities.  I also splattered a couple colors of ink around the layout to give it some interest.

At the top of the layout is a ripped piece of cardboard lightly coated in gesso with a piece of the gorgeous the beautiful lace that comes in the Elements Add On.  .  I cut it in half so that it would not overpower the layout.

I used the tan cardstock and Cheery Lynn doily die.  Such a beautiful die that I layered 2 under the photos.  Next I added the photos and a piece of  chipboard that came in a a previous kit.
I added a sentiment at the that comes in the die cut packet in the Main Kit.

I had such fun making the flower clusters using the 49th and Market flowers from the Floral Add On, plus a few from my stash.  I made several twine loopy bows and inserted them among the clusters.  I LOVE flairs, so a popped a couple in to add some more interest.  I also fussy cut some flowers from one of the Sparkle and Shine papers.

On the title I used a thick layer of Nuvo Crystal Drops from a previous kit.  It dried to a crackly finish, which looks pretty cool.

And the last touch is tons of microbeads and seed beads all around the layout.  Love how it turned out.

That's it for me today!
Hugs!
Kathy
